From September 5 to 7, 2025, 2025 7th International Conference on Civil Engineering, Environment Resources and Energy Materials (CCESEM 2025), hosted by the China-Singapore International Joint Research Institute, was successfully held in Guangzhou. The conference brought together experts, scholars, researchers, faculty, and students from universities, research institutions, and enterprises in China, Singapore, and other countries to discuss cutting-edge advances and innovative achievements in the fields of civil engineering, environmental resources, and energy materials.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Hu Chichun from South China University of Technology. On behalf of the organizing committee, he extended a warm welcome to the attendees and briefly introduced the conference's purpose and agenda. Subsequently, several domestic and international experts delivered keynote presentations covering a wide range of hot research topics, including preventive maintenance technology, key materials and technologies for polymer-based solid-state batteries, coordinated operation and planning of distributed resources in microgrids, modification mechanisms of ultra-high performance concrete, and the resource utilization of solid waste.

Speech Title: Coordinated Operation and Planning of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) in Microgrids

Professor Yan Xu from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, delivered an online presentation on strategies for the coordinated operation and planning of distributed resources in microgrids.

Speech Title: Effect of carbon nanotubes on the mechanical properties of ultra-high performance concrete and its mechanism

Dr. Lan Zhang provided an in-depth discussion on the influence mechanisms of carbon nanotubes on the mechanical properties of ultra-high performance concrete.

Assoc. Prof. Yaolin Yi, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Speech Title: Use of solid wastes/industry by-products for land reclamation

Associate Professor Yaolin Yi presented his insightful research on sustainable approaches for land reclamation using solid waste and industrial by-products.

In the afternoon, the conference proceeded to the oral presentation session. Seventeen scholars and engineers from organizations including CCCC First Highway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., Hubei Provincial Road & Bridge Group Co., Ltd., Chongqing Vocational Institute of Engineering, Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, China Three Gorges University, Guangxi University, Liaoning University, and North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power presented their research findings. The topics covered road engineering, geotechnical engineering, materials science, environmental engineering, and other sub-fields. Among them, Dr. Majid Rasta from China Three Gorges University actively participated in the international exchange with an English presentation.

During the conference, tea breaks and networking sessions were arranged, providing attendees with opportunities for in-depth discussions and establishing collaborations. The entire event was characterized by a strong academic atmosphere and active Q&A interactions, fully reflecting the spirit of interdisciplinary and cross-regional academic cooperation.


At the closing ceremony, Dr. Lang Zhang once again expressed his gratitude to all speakers, participants, and the organizing team for their hard work. He wished everyone a fulfilling and enjoyable weekend in Guangzhou. CCESEM 2025 not only provided a high-level platform for scholars to showcase research results and stimulate innovative thinking but also further promoted international academic exchange and industry-university-research collaboration, injecting new momentum into the sustainable development of related fields.


The next conference will continue to dedicate itself to promoting the integration and collaborative innovation of civil engineering, environmental resources, and energy materials worldwide. We look forward to meeting again in the future!
